Training Review - Week 21 & 22
Late post this week as I have been buried between work and training and life in general.
I put in a solid block of training post-Pamplona. I have managed to settle into a routine that works around my new job.
I finished up this fortnight with an Aquathlon at Loch Ore. The swim was okay, but not as improved as my recent pool times would suggest it should be. Then on the run I was unable to get up to pace. I had a stitch early on and got stuck at 4:25/km pace and couldn't move up from that until inside the last km.
I am going to blame the cold rather than the morning jog around Parkrun. I still have a couple of weeks to Pontevedra but this isn't going to be fixed in time, even with the new shoes that arrived post-race on Sunday. Pontevedra will be 'best efforts' in the Aquathlon, but that was possibly always going to be the case after the cross-triathlon and cross-duathlon.
On Sunday Lorna and I went out to Kirkhill for our first real mountain biking adventure together.
